I would like to think that those who have more can give more.

I have been watching the news about the World financial woes going on in America and all around the rest of the globe. It seems that everyone agrees that at the bottom of it all is that far reaching word we know as greed. I would like to point out that greed is only a word like all other words. It is not a person or a living thing of any kind and, therefore, cannot bring about a financial woe or any other kind of human woe. The problem with any of us blaming greed for any of our human woes even this financial woe that we are in makes it nearly impossible to get at the actual cause of any crises. I think that we should not blame greed or the effects of greed on any of us but we should find the true human culprits and make them pay for their crimes and their ineptitude. But, instead, it seems we find the culprits and we fire them and then we give them millions of dollars. Is it I, or is there something drastically wrong with this scenario? I think that we all know that this is wrong but I think we all also know that the reason this wrong will never be righted is because these particular culprits are the rich and powerful of our world, too. In other words, they, the culprits, are in bed and are in the same household and are in the same vacation homes as our rich and our powerful and are famous. So, is it likely that justice will really ever prevail over white-collar crime, not likely is it? Oh, well, what can we do? I know we can keep on blaming that word greed for our woes, can’t we? At least when we blame greed we do not have to take any personal responsibility for the problems we find ourselves or others in and we do not have to tear down anyone’s famous person’s reputation or do we need tear down their vacation homes either and that in itself is a very good thing. Don’t you think so, too?
Greed is an awful thing to be sure but it is not that thing that we need to worry about, no, what we need to worry about is our rich and our famous and our powerful people that surround us all and control all of our lives with their incompetence and their flatulence. But, the sad fact is not how they treat or control us but it is how we sit back and take it on the chin every single day with little more than a whimper from any of us, me included
