Terrorism is terrorism, we should not divide it in the name of religion, it would create another wide gap between the followers of different religions, in fact the gap has been widened like never before. The western media is responsible for writing and showing every terror attack linked with Islamic group, this is wrong, Indian government has also developed a habit to blame Pakistan after every terror attack in India.

But i still do reiterate the fact that terrorism knows no religion. It is a threat to humanity as a whole and branding a particular religion as harbouring terrorism will only increase the animosities between different religions rather than doing anything to bolster peace, tolerance and harmony.

Jay... thanks for the links.. but those are isolated incidents, and often in retaliation and not to the extent that it occurs within the Muslim religion. On a daily basis they bomb each other all over the middle east.

there is no justification for ANY kind of violence in the name of religion.

Of course there is no justification when people kill each other in the name of religion but these are the people who are misled by a few idiotic clerics who want the world to burn and blood to spill. But, a majority of people who follow Islam are lovers of peace and are those who absolutely hate these mindless acts of terror. I can say this confidently because i have numerous Muslim friends who are very hurt that their religion is used as a ochre garb by terrorists to achieve their blood letting.

Having said this, i think that generalizing a religion as promoting terrorism just because a few idiots who happen to misconstrue it’s meaning is incorrect and this will further alienate different religions’ people from each other.

I don’t have the statistics offhand, but I think you’d be surprised at the percentage of ordinary Muslims who believe violence and jihad is justfified. I too have met a few Muslims who do not condone the violence, but they are secular.

Christian terrorism..okay it exists but only in books and wikipedia not in real world. How many Christians and people of other religions take sword, assault rifles in their hand to practice jehad. Terrorism and Islamic terrorism has same meaning - to kill innocent lives all around the globe.

The Muslims should go out of their way in spreading the identity of the Islam religion. Most terrorists are Muslims. That’s the reason many think that if you are a Muslim, you are a terrorist. Too bad to hear this generalization. This should be changed.

There are countless Christian terrorist around the world and some have formed highly organized terror organizations like the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda that uses child rape, and other unspeakable crimes against humanity as weapons of war against the Ugandan government in the name of fighting for the Lord. They also use child soldiers who are sometimes as young as 12 years old.

Their leader is Joseph Kony who proclaims himself as the spokesperson of God and a spirit medium, primarily of the Christian Holy Spirit which the Acholi believe can represent itself in many manifestations. He is worse than the terrorist Osama bin Laden who wouldn’t say such a thing or use rape as a tool to fight for a cause in the name of Allah the Greatest.
