Do you know what you are talking? In the overwhelmingly Muslim populated Lebanon, the French-Christian militia leader Michel Aun ruled Lebanon with an iron fist. It was only logical that he be ousted and a popular regime took over. That came in the way of the Syria-Iran-backed government taking over the country’s control.

The Christian north enjoyed all the freedom and were generally free from radical Islamic impositions upon them. Lebanon’s golden period was between 90 and 2005 after which things started to get back to the old ways.
What’s that? How is it relevant to the context? Could you kindly explain?

Certainly, US has got and excuse, however, it was not looking for one and don’t even need it, with other issues already tactically put on the burner and Israel enjoying its muscle power.

Now Israel can target Hezbolla with a fresh strategy. Doesn’t matter how hard Syria tries, it won’t be able break Lebanon’s identity. The communion between Christians (who made a grave mistake by forming an alliance with Israel) and Muslims too has never shown any balance. Assassination of Pierre Gemayel has certainly drifted Lebanon towards another civil war .
